Hi apdlc you should have recieved a USB Flash Drive with your course pack. If you read the letter that welcomes you to the course it has your student number on there and details of how to submit your work.

Thanks Terry, I was aware of how to submit my images as part of the module, but I was thinking about how to post the pics on the site so that others can view them, and we can view others, if this is possible. Not that mine are worth looking at you understand. regards Andy

Hi Gary thanks for the comments, how far have you got on this course?.
Nice set of photos Andy,as for which 1 you would change i am not sure why you would change any, i kept thinking that none of mine were good enough, but i thought 'well if they are not my tutor will tell me and why' after all thats why we are here. I just went with what little knowledge i had to make my mind up(i read a lot about photography,I buy loads of magazines(AP of course ) and learn a bit from there.

Hey everyone,
Just started this course, and I was just wondering, are we allowed to post any black and white prints for module one, or do they have to be in colour??
And I have to say, ive seen a few of the photos that some of you have submitted, and I feel like mine are rubbish now!!! You're all so good, I feel intimidated haha
Ah well, im here to learn right?

Hi HSB welcome to the forums, as for your question about b&w, it is still photography so i am sure it is ok. A few of my shots are in b&w, as for everyone else seems to be better, i'm sure most of us feel that way(i do). Good luck with your Mod. Regards Terry.

I am gutted!!
Saw a great photo opportunity the other mornin of a frosted over spiders web, but I was running late for work so I could only take a photo using my phone. hoping it would still be there by the next morning but it wasnt!!!
So I was wondering, do you think I would be allowed to submit a photo that is only 3.2 megapixels, taken on my phone? Its a really good photo, it wil be a shame to waste!!

Hi HSB I am not sure, it's kinda not photography, but it is because you did see the potential of the shot, and i guess if the light is good and the DOF is right who knows. And i did read a piece in a Photo mag where they gave camera phones to people so they could see what they came up with. So i have to say"i don't know" hope this helps Ask 1 of the tutors if it would be acceptable.

Hi Terry,
I do see your point, Im confused as to whether it wud suffice or not. I will think about it but I think i will just wait for the next spiders web to come along, just one of those things I guess! Thanks for your reply anyway

Hi Tina do you have photoshop ? if you do, open the image,go to image in the drop down menu and then image size. Change the image to the 1 required for submission ( width 29.7 cm x 21cm, A4 size by a res of 300) and see what the picture looks like. Hope this helps. Terry

Hi Terry,
Yea I do have photoshop and I tried what you suggested and it worked perfect!! Thanks a lot for the tip!
One last question, do all our photos used in module 1 have to be 300dpi at A4 size because I thought that was the maximum size we are able to use?? I might have read that wrong though.
Thanks again for your help.

Hi Tina the way i read it is that the image should be not larger than A4 by 300 ppi, and as it does not give a minimum size i assume that this is the the required size.

I hope maximum means just that i.e maximum. If a picture has been cropped it may not be appropriate to make it exactly A4 size and shape.

Have just had Mod I returned and whilst tried to make all as near as possible to A4 and no biggger, a couple were slightly smaller but all were at 300dpi. They were OK so this seems to confirm - i.e. maximum at A4 means just that. Hope this helps. Peter

I'm using a dam for my large man-made structure. Just sent off module one, I'm still not happy with it, each time I take a picture it seems to be slightly better than the last.
