Thank you,
No, unfortunately there's not many snow covered mountains in Bedfordshire (I don't think we even got snow this year! ) It was taken in New Zealand on the south island last year.

I really like the frozen padlock too, I'm a sucker for close up frosty photos.

I like this one, it's very descriptive and is a very good reportage shot of an actual event. Good Luck.

...I can't decide. So many excellent entries this month my shortlist of favorites filled the back of an envelope!

I love the pose of the female doll in David's 'Trapped' that's just how all women stand when they're cold and I love the idea behind Chris's 'If winter comes, can spring be far behind?' a well thought out image that fits Damien's brief perfectly...

...but then there are so many other good ones too!

Great picture, love the angle this was taken at, and spot on composition.
Looking at the picture, I can imagine the feeling in my fingers, having to hold it to open the frozen lock.

Thanks for the comments, it was freezing the morning I took that shot (temp was reading -6 in the car!!)

The quality of the images have been superb and i'm already looking forward to the next months subject.

Does anyone else find it really difficult choosing photos for this competition?

I have lots that filled this brief & ended up picking at random.

Too many good entries this month.

Thanks, Bawbee. It's not a very interesting interpretation of the theme, but it reflects something I dislike about winter - being stuck in a 4WD and not being able to get home for all the traffic that can't handle the conditions!

I don't "choose".

I try always to take one that fits the spec during the month of the competition.

I don't always succeed . . . . .

Same here Chris. I'd rather go out and take a new photo for each month, I feel it shows (to me anyway) that I made an effort rather than going through my old photos.

Me too, even if it ain't that good I'd also rather make the effort than sift through old stuff looking for something that may fit.

This monthly competition is actually getting me off my arse and making me think about how I can be creative. Am already thinking about March's entry (hopefully they will get better as the months go by - never know by Dec I might get a mug. )

Don't worry. That's not untypical. With nearly 70 entries this month it's not surprising. There are many entries that never get mentioned. It's nothing personal and it's Damien's decision that matters.

Agreed it would be better to get out and teak some new photos, but with a 3 month old baby that is a bit difficult at the moment
