Season's greetings & new year resolutions
      #587309 - 25/12/2007 13:19

Wishing you all the best for Christmas and the new year!

Has santa brought you any nice emulsions? What are you hoping for in 2008? (Digital things not allowed!)

Nothing photographic under the tree for me, but I'm after a Zero 69 for my birthday, and I want to try Rollei Scanfilm. My aim is to use a lot more film, and to buy up as much Velvia 100F as I can find, as it seems to be disappearing.

I asked santa for some film for christmas, luckily santa has class when it comes to choosing film, because he chose Delta3200 in 120.

I might have to shoot a roll or 2 of it tomorrow

No film, but the wife got me a Leica R7 to put some in. I got her an OM4Ti and 300mm lens.

Hoping for in 2008?

Why, an Audio Research Reference 3 of course - cameras aren't the only objects of desire!

I'll have to investigate. Calumet didn't have any last time I was in, and a few other online places seem to have stopped listing it now that the 'new' Velvia RVP is in.

By the way, we're hoping to visit the in-laws in Japan in '08, so guess who'll be buying up Fuji Natura 1600 colour neg film and (if still available) a few rolls of Fortia? Go on, guess!

Oohh! Fortia! Often fancied trying that. Saw it on a website somewhere but I can't find it now!

Per,

If you're looking at one of those, take a look at the TRON Syren (www.tron-electric.com) which is made only 30 miles up the road from you at Denham near Uxbridge
(review here - http://www.sixmoons.com/audioreviews/tron/syren.html).

If you're into valves, then you must listen to Graham Tricker's (Tron designer) gear at GT Audio.

Anyway, very nice photos on your gallery and Happy New Year!

Best wishes,

Found this on my usual Sunday trawl of ebay. I've bought film from this seller before and never had a problem.

Wow Charlie, cool system. I've heard the Platine/Allaerts at Walrus.

I'm talking to Walrus to see if they can get me a dem of the Reference 3. I'll certainly look into GT Audio.

Audio Research LS7/Michell ISO HR Hera prototype

This is all sounding very good. I can smell the hot valves from here!

I fancy getting hold of a pair of the new Quad II Forty power amps, but my old Quad II's keep going strong, and still sound wonderful.

.......... But then Our fourteen year old thinks I should get an iQuad or something. Has anyone heard of them. Do they play real music?

And a fine system for a New Years Eve party too!

I did even manage to dig out some Beyonce and Britney, on 12" of course
