Just packaged up Mod 10 ready to post, still not happy with the prints but my next effort will be better... I`ve not been the most prolific poster but I have been grateful to all of you who have made contributions. Thanks to Laura Bianco for her speedy efficiency and of course Garry McNamara for his help and support - it really has been more than I expected! So.. Merry Xmas! Chris

Morning folks, Sorry, no time to dip in yesterday. Ok I really do promise to send in some images over the weekend, I`ll have to go to a friends house with good internet connection. What to do next? - well I`m off work from today, so I intend to take photo`s of whatever I want! I know I wouldn`t have progressed so well if I hadn`t taken the course so I am definately going to do something else. Believe it or not, I put a couple of my My mod 9 images on my kitchen wall in a cheap frame, my neighbour wants to "buy" both of them and also wants a duplicate for their daughters Xmas present. Firstly i`m shocked, secondly I feel embarassed to take any money - what would you do??? Have a great time this Xmas! Chris ps Special Xmas wishes to "Mrs AP Chris"....such a lovely name!!

Hi Lisa et al, Hope you all had a good break! Shame about the endless grey skies, still I had great fun taking stacks of images. Regarding accepting money for a couple of my prints, I declined – so on Xmas eve my neighbour brought me gifts of cake and a book (Ansel Adams 400 photos)which was great - inspirational in fact - now that bloke was good! A local farmer asked me to photograph some cattle on New Years Day, seemed a nice idea. So I spent over an hour paddling in inches of liquid muck and slurry, amongst 20 big hairy beef cattle with horns. I was pushed onto my hands and knees, covered with fresh cow !*!* and my camera bag got pulled into the sea of muck by a calf. Now my clothes are soaking in a tub of water, my camera bag is in the dust bin and I still have to scrape some muck from the camera which somehow still works. If the farmer likes the image he will drop in a bag a spuds…. As for the images…… well I spent some time last night with a glass of wine sorting them and I think without a doubt they are some of my best so far. Now if I get that bag of spuds, what a start to the new year that would be….. Chris.

Hi Chris,
that's the first laugh I've had so far this New Year! The thought of you taking pics of cows covered in cow muck. Wish I could have been there, sounds like a great time. Lisa.

Hi Lisa, Yes the whole scenario was pretty hilarious - luckily I am able to laugh at myself! The story continues....the farmer called in to drop in the sack of spuds last night - success! He looked at the images on my pc and really liked them - well, he had just drunk half of one of my boxes of Stella! They are award winning cattle, so he wants to send some images to a magazine ("What Digital Cow" or something?), so I am especially glad to have learned from Mod 10 the stuff about preparing images for publication etc, it now makes perfect sense, Oh and by the way the local printer and I have at last seen eye to eye - he can print exactly what I want! To be fair the printer profile wasn`t always selected in photoshop so I must take most of the blame! still, I learned a lot. Got to go now, my work for the day just arrived - YUK!!....that pit full of Cows muck suddenly seems a better option... Chris

I know a few of you have been considering an additional course once you finish this one. I have looked at a lot of options and will most likely begin the Foundation in Photography course, I`m just waiting on a few details from the IPC office. Quite a lot of the other courses I have looked at seem to go over what I`ve already covered ( and they are expensive!), the Foundation course will hopefully encourage me to explore new areas of photography that I know I will avoid if given the choice! So I hope to see some familiar names on the "other" forum soon. Chris
