Board moderation matters: please read.
      #571274 - 19/11/2007 09:13

Moderator: I've received multiple complaints about one particular user's persistent negativity on this forum, and I'm inclined to agree. It looks a lot like trolling, and certainly tends to have exactly the same effect. The user concerned has a few days' suspension to reconsider his approach to the forum. Further action will be taken if necessary.

I'm taking the unusual step of discussing it openly because the problems caused in recent months have been numerous and substantial, and I think there's a pervading sense of victimization [too melodramatic a word, I know, but I can't think of a more appropriate one at this time of the morning] in the Olympus Chat forum.

Daylight raids by users of other marques lobbing 'banter bombs' into the forum are, I'm afraid, just something everyone has to put up with. But genuine trolling and gratuitous disruption to the harmony of the forum is not acceptable, and persistent offenders can be banned permanently if necessary.

I was getting worried there.........

....... until I realised that if I had been suspended I would not be able to write this.

Point taken anyhow.

Life and reviews would be very dull and dreary things if reviewers were completely non-partisan and carried out by the same formula. When I'm considering a purchase, the AP, BJP and WDC reviews are the ones I rely on, mainly because each of these seem to deliver a quite specific 'take' on equipment which when put together, give a very 'rounded' opinion of a piece of equipment.
