Used Dimage A1 oblique vertical banding in images....
      #571237 - 18/11/2007 23:42

Hi all,

I just bought a Dimage A1 used and the images exhibit some sort of oblique vertical banding at close inspection. As for as I now know, it may be the beginning of what was a known CCD issue with the A1 that KM and then Sony were repairing for free. Anyone has experienced the same or has dealt recently with Sony in regards to this?

Thanks,

........To all who had a look at this thread, forget it, I spoke to Johnson's Photopia and yes my Dimage has a problem and yes they will deal with it free of charge if there is a CCD recall issue with the cam even now. That is excellent, as the problem seems intermitent and when the camera works, its RAW files are shockingly close to the ones from my 7D in many ways. Superb AF too for a compact.

Any other issues they will charge.

Hell yeah, even if I have to spend any money on it I will. Great little camera (only little in size really).

Anyways, thanks for looking.
