metal or plastic casettes?
      #557492 - 21/10/2007 13:40

hello,
I am getting back into bulk loading film again and I wonder if anyone has any tips or experience with bulk loading onto metal or plastic cassetes, are there any differences with the two, i.e scratches, durability?, light leaks?.

thanks

I don't think there is a lot of difference - unless you will be shooting in very cold or very dry conditions, when plastic cassettes seem to be much more prone to ruin film by static discharge, especially if you use a motor wind.

metal every time. Plastic creates too much static and can atract dust which itself sticks to the film.

Only Ilford metal cassettes can be reused. Kodak are a non starter
