This thread is for posting of FirstView pictures for the 1st of September, 2007. Please read the main About FirstView thread, if you have not done so already. You may post only one image here, and it must have been taken on the 1st of September, 2007. Please remember to include the basic details - time and place of shooting, and what we're looking at. If you want to put in a short paragraph explaining what's going on, or why you chose that one, or whatever, then please do, but keep it brief and relevant. Any discussion beyond that can go in the 'Comments' thread. Please do not post comments or other replies here - they will be deleted. This thread is for FirstView image posting only.
The picture thread will remain open for a couple of days in the first instance, so please try to get your contributions in promptly. People who are perhaps away from home, or need time for film processing, or are otherwise unable to post their images in the initial time slot should pm me - I'll re-open the thread later in the month for late additions. In all cases please remember that the forum image posting rules apply (see HOW TO POST IMAGES - MAXIMUM SIZES - Free progs - Tutorials...).

The country road past our house is normally quiet but one day a year it is a stream of 4x4s as the horsey set make their way to Burghley Horse Trials.
This was quite funny - I stood outside our house with the camera on a monopod and I could see the vehicles braking vigorously to come down to the 30 limit which they generally ignore totally.

Taken from my bedroom window at 10:15 across a farmer's field. St Bartholomew's church tower (Westhoughton) can just be seen above the white house.

I was hoping for nicer weather today and a walk up on the downs, but after brief spell of sunshine it clouded over and I opted for a lazy day watching other people doing sports - nothing like a good bit of exercise! :-) So, anyway, a light lunch was called for:
2:19pm, 1st of September, 2007.

Some of what's left for the kids, wife and me! Just got back from a week in Great Yarmouth. Had a wonderfull time. Watched them making rock in the shop. Have seen it on TV but it was great to see and smell IRL. The sugar was quick to cool down on the table. Thankfully they knew what they were doing. There are a couple of machines that would easily break your bones. They had to raise the safety guard whilst in operation to keep the mixture in the folding arms.

Taken around 16:30, removing the black goo from my Electro 35 before fitting new seals. I hate this job! Wish they'd used felt instead!
Also wish I'd done it before I put a film through, rather than after.... oh well......

Taken in the garden of my Son. I tried my frst joiner last week and was wondering how they would work for portraits. I'm not all that happy with the result as he was playing his guitar and not keeping that still. But it is the only photo I have taken today so it will have to do.
