Course members from East Anglia
      #460634 - 02/04/2007 12:26

Greeting all,

I was just wondering how many people on the course are from East Anglia?

I know there are a couple of us from Norfolk and thought I might ask the question.....

Excellent!!!!!

Are you guys interested in meeting up some time? Might be an idea to have a day out somewhere adjacent to us all and see what we come up with.

There are some great places around the coast that I know of and I'm sure we could come up with list of potential locations.

Anyway, let me know what you think.

Rog

I'd be up for it but my time is a bit limited what with mundane things like job/kids/wife etc

How about proposing a few dates/times and seeing how many of us can make it?

John

Locations a few suggestions:

Cambridge - colleges, botanical gardens, American cemetery etc (I was born and work in Cambridge, so I can be your tour guide!)
Norwich - only been once but seems okay
Rutland Water, Grand Union canal

Either the 2/3rd June or 23/24th June would be OK for me. I live out close to the North Norfolk coast so we could possibly add that as an additional venue. Alternatively I'd be happy with either Norwich or Cambridge.

Like the idea of Chubbsters offer of the tour guide.....

How about we go for that on the first outing and then maybe go to coast on the next?

Yep, okay with me. I'll have to get a red umbrella for holding up in the air

I hate punting, so don't expect me to do that, but for anybody else that's fine with me, I'll look after the gear (in the Anchor pub) incase you decide to take a dip

I think I'm clear most weekends in June (except 2nd as I've a wedding in Peckham to attend).

If Chubbster can't make the 2nd June weekend, how about we aim for Sunday 24th June? I will drive down so hopefully the traffic should be a bit better on the Sunday rather than the Saturday.

24th should be okay, need to get the permit stamped by the missus, but I'm owed one as it's her friends wedding I'm having to endure

OK mate, I'll pencil it in. I only hope she doesn't get to read your post - could cause all kinds of problems

Are people from outside the region allowed? Just asking 'cos I'm in Cambridge on 23rd for a hen night and will still be around (in some state or other) on the 24th.

I also lived there for 10 years but don't have many photos of the place, so it would be great to put that right.

Of course!! The more the merrier. Even if you weren't in the region for the Hen night it's probably quicker/easier for you to get to Cambridge than say somebody from south Essex or north Norfolk?

Looks like the 24th is a goer then....

What time would suit everyone?

I'm coming from North Norfolk so about 90mins for me, would 10am be ok and where is best to meet?
