New Help questions - please read before posting
      #287410 - 16/01/2006 19:42

A few words about posting 'Help' questions

Before posting a Help question, please take a few moments to think through the information you supply with the question. There are many knowledgeable people here on the forums, to say nothing of the expert magazine staff who might deal with your question if it gets onto the printed page. But it will often be necessary to have supplementary information in order to provide the most helpful answer.

For example, if your question has to do with suppliers it might be vital to know roughly whereabouts you are - either within the UK, or whether in some other country. Likewise, if asking for advice on suitable equipment it might help to make it clear what sort of subjects you want to shoot, or what your level of experience is, or perhaps most obviously what your budget is, for instance.

You will probably get more, and more helpful, responses if forum members don't have to work too hard getting essential information out of you, so please try to provide any details you think might be necessary up front.

Finally, responders as well as questioners should remember that their contributions might be printed in the magazine, But if you particularly want your question to be considered for inclusion you should make sure that your forum registration has a genuine e-mail address.
