A200 Depth of colour
|
|
First comparison with my compact camera (Leica D-lux 3)is interesting. Colour richness and accuracy is not so wonderful. 18-55 Kit lens very soft. I hasten to add that this is based on a few shots rattled off under time pressure. It wont be till Monday that I get to really have a look at things properly. The handbook looks Ok and will almost certainly cover the colour problem. Looks to me that everything is slightly underexposed. Maybe my printer needs some adjustment too, It's a Cannon Pixma IP4500 and has been very faithful with the Leica? Anybody out there who has experience of this problem and can point me in the right direction? Might save me a lot of reading time. The feel of the camera is great and the buttons are just right for me. I can see that I will be able to develop my imagery with patience and time.

You don't say how you are taking the photographs. RAW or JPEG, exposure method, focusing etc??

Re: A200 Depth of colour

Spent a lot of today setting up the camera properly, and reading the instruction booklet. Pleased to report that I have produced some excellant images of the flowers in my garden. Very accurate colour and now the metering is pretty much under my control the sharpness has improved as well. There does not seem to be an issue between my printer and the camera as I first suspected. Thank goodness, as it took a lot of time to get set up with the Leica. Raw looks a challenge, and I think I will leave that alone for a while and just get used to taking everyday shots using AV and S to start with, in jpeg format. Many thanks for the book info. It's on my wish list.
