Sony Alpha 3.5/6.3 18-250

Anyone using this lens? I have a Sigma 18-125, for my Alpha 100, which is OK, but since this Sony lens is younger, is the Sony 18-250 ergo really considerably better, ie sharper at all lengths, higher contrast, etc? It is currently nearly twice the price of my Sigma...

Don't have the Sony one, but I have the Tamron equivalent and it is excellent (use it on the A100 AND the A700). Over £100 cheaper as well!

... I too have a 18-250mm, the Tamron version, and it's an excellent all-purpose lens. Highly recommended. The Sony version has slightly faster focussing and more circular diaphragm blades, some say looks better, and a bigger price tag

Which was the reason I bought it!

Marc and Roger, I thank you.
