New to Photography - Panasonic FZ 18

Just received my FZ 18 this week and I'm over the moon, still trying to get my head round all the functions. Cant wait till the weekend to get out and see what it can do.
Any advise on the camera functions etc would be very welcome.

I've also just receieved mine, as my 40th birthday present, and am busy reading through the manual!! Can't wait to get to grips with it all!

our dog is called Mutley!)

Just got mine, very nice. Makes me feel like a prober photographer (and none of that swapping lens messing bout
)Spent last couple of days playing, and still not scratch surface.
Got case, UV filter, and LCD protector, anyone recommend any other stuff that is vital (or even not so vital
)
