Hi All I have just bought a beercan (70-210mm F4) on ebay, and am going to try to use it for macro work - among many other things of course. The lens has a "macro" setting at 210mm, but the image size is only 1:4, not the 1:1 I am used to with my cheapie Cosina 100mm F3.5 + close-up filter. Has anyone on this forum used a beercan with an extension tube ? If so, what results did you get ? Or am I barking up the wrong tree ? Many thanks RussB |

The "beercan" close focusses at all focal lengths - not just at 210mm. I've tried getting a larger (maybe almost 1:1) image on the frame but with limited success. Here's a thread with some useful information and some photos. I took this photo using a 2x converter and the "beercan" - it's about half the original frame. ![]() Good luck. |
