What's your favourite TV show?

Don't watch a lot of telly myself but I have to admit I'm rather partial to American TV series "JAG" about the American Navy's Judge Advocate General office. Some pretty good scripts as well as some pretty corny ones (the one about the IRA was laughable!). Of course my main reason for watching it is that I've got the hots for beautiful but bitchy character "Lieutenant Singer" (played by the delectable Nanci Chambers) who is of course married in real life to the star of the show "Commander Harm Rab" (played by David James Elliot).

Re: What's your favourite TV show?

Just wondering how many people will claim not to watch much TV except for the odd documentary in case they should appear less than intellectual?

Personally I don't watch much TV ;-) err.. except for the odd documentary here and there....

However, I like Star Trek (original, next gen, Voyager and DS9), Star Gate, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I also like to watch Horizon, Scrapyard Challenge and lots of other stuff too.

I hate any of the cookery programs especially those that challenge 'chefs' to cook a meal in 20 minutes from an old boot, half a carrot and an OXO cube. I hate those wife swap, holiday swap as well as the ones that send in half baked, half educated designers that proceed to mutilate peoples homes with MDF and lilac paint when you know full well they wouldn't let that stuff within 10 miles of their gaden shed never mind their own homes.

What's that other series? Oh yeah.. the '........ From Hell' series...

With all that crap on it doesn't leave much time for the good stuff like Sci Fi and Vampires does it?

I need to live longer, I have discovered photography and now have so much to learn - (not Picasso)

I really don't watch much TV - some sport, yes, some documentaries, and even some of the cookery programmes (but not many!) - but Red Dwarf is where it's at, what telly was invented for.
Soaps, reality shows and absolutely anything to do with the royal family are alarm-clock TV to me.

Hogan's Heroes, Doctor Who, Blake's 7, Red Dwarf [haven't seen the last two in a while], Star Trek (original & Voyager is pretty cool too; never could stand the rest for the most part, although I watched Next Generation when it was originally aired); Hawaii Five-O

I like to watch Japanese Anime (yes, cartoons). Too many to list here. I need something going in the background while I'm developing my film!

Okay, so I do watch a lot of television.

Funny you should say that Huw cause the TV series was one of those "spin off's" from the film "A few good men". It's on satellite on the Hallmark channel which might explain why you haven't seen it.

I have to say the Simpsons and most other cartoons, helps me escape the reallity of life. Apart from that I watch alot of war documentaries, I find it fascinating and disturbing that us humans can come up with so many nasty ways to kill each other instead of using our supposed intelligence to make things better for ourselves.

I (have to) enjoy progs like 'Life Laundry', 'What Not to Wear', anything with antiques - SWMBO usually hides the remote so that she gets to watch what she wants

When I can find (and take control) of teh remote, I like 'Have I got news for You', the recently finished 'Grumpy Old Men' and, believe it or not, 'Parkinson' - never mind who's on, the guy's a great interviewer.

Can't stand him anywhere. He talks all over the flipping records, how annoying is that?

TV - has to be ER, NYPD Blue (why have C4 dumped all over that), Star Trek TNG and original series (the other 3 don't really do it for me), The Simpsons, Futurama was good too.

Re: What's your favourite TV show?

Jack, the final episode of SFU season three is on TV on Thursday so I expect some fireworks. It's a really well made drama but it's not everyone's cup of tea. Claire's my favourite character.

Tim, Ireland's main TV broadcaster RTE has NYPD Blue in a late night slot. It's a full season ahead of C4. I've just watched season 1 and 2 on DVD. I liked David Caruso as Kelly but the show didn't really settle until Jimmy Smits came along.

Rob, I liked Angus but if you listen to the commentary on the HIGNFY best of DVD it's clear that Ian and Paul didn't. The guest presenter's have been abit hit and miss but I think it adds a bit of spice to proceedings. Boris Johnson, the white-haired conservative MP was excellent as the presenter last season.

Dan

P.S. I was a late convert to Homicide, life on the street.
