Great image Mark. Love the upturned canoes, something refreshing and different as foreground interest

Thanks, Chris. I notice that I have some dust on the sensor, seems to be more evident when I am going for no dof, at f16. As this image hasn't see Photoshop yet, I must remember to clone out the offending dust spots.
Since I took this I bought a simple rocket blower, took off my lens, turned my camera so that the hole pointed towards the floor and gave it a few puffs. Seems to have worked.

An Image from my recent trip to Cambridge -
The Bridge of Sighs
As I've been experimenting with sepia toning in The Gimp I thought this one would suit the technique

I have to admit I know nothing about septia. A version of B&W?

Re: June 07 - Favourite Photo

That's right Mark. It's an old fashioned look created by blending a B&W image with a brown layer. I'm following the tutorails on Gimp Guru

Hi Mark & Chris. I really like both of you photos. Mark's for the reflections and scale of things, & Chris' for the detail. You both seem to have enjoyed your 'trips' out. Lisa.

I'm quite fond of this photo which I took on my holiday in the Yorkshire Dales. If you've looked at my stuff on Flickr you'll have seen it before. I found waterfalls hard to photo, but the lovely ferns growing around the falls added to the available subjects. Lisa.

Great images guys. I really enjoyed your pics from Canada Mark. I'm currently applying to live over there, and plan to live in Vancouver. So I can appreciate the images a little more

My fav from last month. Shot with canon350D, m42 adapter, Helios 44mm manual lens, Hoya R72 Filter and a 90second exposure.

That's intriguing (sp?) Gizmo. IR I presume - where is it and what is it? Lisa.

That's a really interesting shot Gizmo. I like the effect the 90sec exposure had on the sky

Egypt or London?

Thanks guys. It's actually a simple monument standing on a hill in a local park (Red House park in Birmingham). Sometimes you have to see these things from a different angle to appreciate them

So Egypt and London were a bit off the mark then?

Well I could try and make it sound more dramatic and say it's actually the only known standing monument outside Eygpt that was used as a sacrifice tomb for the Eygptian Gods. People were mummified here, their spirits extracted and forced out into the apocalyptic sky for the gods to salvage and take to the after life.

I've actually visited the one in Egypt and know of the one in London hence my initial guess.

Re: June 07 - Favourite Photo

Hi Folks, This is my first visit for a while, work has been hell for the past three months, at least I haven’t missed out on too much summer weather! Just wanted so say that I enjoyed all the June photos, AP Chris - a familiar place for me, the image captures the feel of the place well. AlMark - great view, the low mist makes the shot for me. Lisa - we seem to take shots of similar subjects! Once again I think you`ve captured the feel of the area, damp, fresh, luscious - I can almost smell the vegetation! . Gizzmo - I love it, especially the sky. I really must try to contribute more on here. So now that I`ve been suitably motivated I will dust ofF the camera and continue with Mod 9 which I started in April. Chris

Thanks Matt & Chris. Yes please dust of your cameras, we need more contributions. Greater variety will lead to greater discussion! Lisa.
