RTS battery cap / cover

Hello,
Could anyone tell me what other cameras share the same screw in battery cap as the RTS ? I believe the Yashica FR1 does but do the older FX's share the same. Anyone have a secret stash of them as I have a second scruffy RTS in need of one?
Regards

Re: RTS battery cap / cover

The FX3 / FXD battery covers were plastic and prone to self destruction. I can not remember what the FX FX2 was like but I did not remember them taking PX28s I think it will be FR FR1 FR11 that you need to look for.

Very grateful for that response, just as you were typing I managed to buy a mangled FR1 on Ebay on a buy it now, so problem will hopefully be solved and I'll have two working RTS's.
Now what do I do save the mint one to occasionaly hold it and drool over it and use the scruffy one, or use the minter as it should be used?

My sights are now on an RTS2 just don't tell the wife

decisions, decisions

Cheers

Darran

P.S. why couldn't we have had Ebay in the 1980's life would have been so much easier.

No don't just keep it to look at, run a film through it now and again.
See my previous post, my mint RTS now only opens the shutter 30% of the time, due to lack of use over the last many years.
Shame I enjoyed using it on it's return but only got six of seven negs out of a roll of film. Question is do I keep it as is or find a suitable repairer and try to get it fixed?

Re: RTS battery cap / cover

I'm sorry to hear that, I was recently looking for a professional CLA service on my 137ma and quotes were over £120. That particular model has a great deal of sentimental value for me so I won't get rid, or jab at it with a screw driver myself, but at that price I could by a mint example if I looked hard enough.

I will certainly be using it, I intend buying a couple of rolls of XP2 tomorrow, I've never used that before, then I'm heading of to a beach with a tripod and some filters to enjoy my day off.

I don't want to mark it but its too good a camera not to be used.
