Advice on G7
|
|
Hi
Greetings from Mount Olympus.
Am thinking about getting my hands on a G7 - and would appreciate your advice/recommendations - personal experiences with this camera.

I didn't like the small, dark viewfinder but otherwise pretty good for a compact that isn't really all that compact
Not that I've used one in anger as it were....

If you want to 'use' all the features of the G7, don't get a G7, get a G9 it's got RAW. The extra versatility that RAW brings is well worth the extra effort required when down loading images to your PC. It's a great camera, and most of the G9 owners here seem to be quite happy with theirs.

I'm looking for the carrying convenience of something like a Canonet or a Trip with the technology of digital - but something more robust than the run of the mill digital pocket camera.
If I had the money I'd buy a Leica M8 really

hmmn - looks like the G7 doesn't really cut it even in Canonland

Especially in Canonland, actually - we're quite picky about compacts, and G series ones just have to have RAW capture.
