Yes. Superb. Fantastic. Awesome.

With one note... I did find that it tended to burn out lighter areas.

I always used a soft grad (Cokin P121S) with this lens to stop it burning out

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

That was quick Fen.. What about vigneting using the Canon 40D, Is this likely to be a much of a problem?

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

I only found that happen on my 20D when I had the cokin adaptor on at 10mm and fully open.

Otherwise it was okay

Thanks Fen, got a chance of one and it would be handy for the odd landscape photography I do.

I have the 10-20 on a 40D and as Fen says, really you will only get slight (easily fixable) vigneting wide open with a filter on.

Great lens - I love it

I love this lens too.................well worth paying a little bit over the norm for.

I paid £330 against the `normal` £280 because I could only find one shop that had it in stock.

I've got it, I haven't tried it with a filter, but it's an excellent lens on my 40D.

I `normally` have a skylight on my lens`, but have not got one for this.

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

As everyone else says - it's brilliant! I have an occasional problem with flaring when using my Cokin grad ND, but I suppose it is to be expected when shooting into the sun!

Mine is near-permanently stuck to the front of my 40D. It is super-sharp and the distortion effects you can get at the 10mm-end are great fun.

I have many examples of Sigma 10-20 pics on my Flickr account. http://www.flickr.com/photos/net-adept/2570238919/ is one recent example which people seem to like.

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

I've got. Quite please with it taken some nice shots with it.
Only reservation with losing filters is if you use the cokin slot type. I get reflections from the lens catching the light from behind the camera reflected on the inside of the filter.
If I don't anticipate it (and becuase of the restricted viewfiner coverage I sometimes don't) then I need to crop the image by 10% or so to lose them. This is on a 400D, it got some reviews that stated fringing as a sligt concern, I haven't found that to be honest, it can be a little flat colour wise in some situations. Even at f5.6 I get decent dof from fore to back.

Other concern is that the focus scale isn't reliable at the infinity end (on my example at least) good build quality, only real regret is that it wont work on my EOS 3

Re: Sigma 10-20mm

I'm not sure that I should comment since my Sigma 10-20 is Nikon fit. I must say however that if Nikon made a 10-22 like the Canon 10-22 then the Sigma 10-20, as good as it is would not have been in contention.
