Re: June08 comments “Plant life”

Thanks guys!

I basically found a shiny plastic bit/sheet thingy, drilled a whole through it (to hold the flower straight and steady), cut a flower, sprayed it all a bit, put a macro ring flash under it and underexposed it. Then I just increased the contrast a tad in PS and that was it. Just experiment with different plastic or translucid surfaces.

Thanks Graham. Must confess it was more luck than judgment as I set the self timer, and put the camera in the mud. I've also slightly 'Ortoned' it to soften it as it was very contrasty.

I don't think they're edible, I didn't give it a go not even with a full English breakfast. Thanks for the feedback on the pic, much appreciated. This is part of a concerted effort to get out and take pics as I have lapsed lately.

And yes, plenty of great shots. I think RustyKnight's "Enough to make a grown man cry" is really eye catching. Everytime I go through the pics, his photo really stands out.

I really like your Pod - very unusual (still trying to work out exactly what it is) and I suspect it is even more striking full-size (probably goes for a lot of the entries this month).
