The Info-Lithium batteries are great. One battery type (NP-FM500H) fits all the Alpha cameras and vertical grips, a100 to a700. They give an accurate read out in percentage of life remaining. Last for ages too




That's good to hear. My point in raising this matter comes from my experience in the domestic camcorder market. Sony's later camcorders only operate with genuine Sony batteries, whereas earlier models could accept "after market" batteries with a saving in cost. So now there are batteries on offer which come with a power lead to supply power to the charging terminal - in addition to plugging in to the camcorder's socket. They look attractive until you read the "small print".

So far, I've only used genuine Sony types with 4/5 success - 4 report their charge state correctly, the 5th. is weird, and all attempts at "resetting" it have failed.
