I think it would depend on what you are interested in Photographing...
I never Take a photograph for the sake of taking a photograph.

My interests in my "old Age" are to record the yearly happenings in my locality (Saddleworth)and take progress shots of new developments in the area...

I have been photographing the remediation of land and the construction of a new canal boat marina for the past two years. construction on the site is expected to continue for a further two years. On completion of the project, the Photographs including a large number of panoramas, to give a sense of place,will be handed over to the local museum as an archive. I completed a smaller project just after Christmas and start another in June.

Such work requires getting site permissions from the various interested parties and observing safety rules including wearing the proper safety kit.

many of the photographs could be considered boring but they contribute to an interesting record of work done, methods used and changes made.
