In passing it's the cones that detect colour. They are outnumbered about 20:1 by the rods which have greater sensitivity particularly to blue light. Hence pilots wearing red glasses to preserve night adaptation. Anyway back to the question. I find myself in difficulty with the condemnation of smokey water. With a large frame camera one is working at small apertures and longer shutter speeds so water is bound to be blurry. |
