Installation problems CS3 (full programme)

and the troubleshooting option hasn't helped..
the pc spends ages installing the shared components but when it's finished I get the message it says "component install failed"
I am operating with the virus protection turned off
. My PC is an Athlon X64 3000 with 2Gb of RAM, so it's hardly my machine that can't handle it...Does anyone have any pointers?
