Times is 'ard

Well, what with the credit crunch and everything, sacrifices have to be made, and thoughts inevitably turn to making do and mending.

Any plans I had to buy an E3 have now evaporated, (I didn't really have any anyway), and I have even thought of eating cardboard film boxes to ease the hunger pangs.

(I'm sure those Velvia boxes would taste nice. And they've been in the freezer next to the Kippers for a while now which should add some flavour).

Anyhow, I was in Boots on Saturday, and thinking of injecting money into the economy, I spotted some Kodachrome 64 on the shelf. It was a bit short dated (Oct 2008), so I asked if there might be any discount. The assistant said she could let me have it at half price (about £6 something), and called for the Supervisor, who said I could have it for £5 a roll! I had already picked up three rolls to take advantage of the 3 for the price of 2 offer, so I got three rolls of Kodachrome for £10.

It must be at least twenty-five years since I last used Kodachrome (in the days when it was sent to PO Box 14 at Hemel Hempstead, and years before I got my OM4Ti), so I couldn't wait to try it again.

Anyhow, I took advantage of the sun this afternoon, and took my old pride and joy out for a walk. Sadly I don't use teh OM as often as I should these days, but that huge, bright viewfinder was a real joy to use.

Oh well, only a few more exposures to go and my first envelope will be on it's way to Switzerland.
