Careful now!
I would second the reccomendation for the 40 ~ 150 lens.
It's not the fastest lens on the planet, but quality is excellent, and its small and lightweight.
If money was no object I would suggest the 50 ~ 200, which is faster but heavier, and costs around £700 IIRC.
