Yes, this beginner forgets she is a beginner to Digital photography, and its not as easy as I thought to transpose all knowledge. Oh well.

I will have another go between now and the weekend and then return to the supplier for replacement/repair.

If it doesnt work after one beer, do I keep going with the beer

You could always make a pin hole camera out of empty beer can if all else fails.
