Yes, I think you're right. It will be interesting to see what news is coming up. There seems to be rampant speculation at large about some big anouncement in August or at Photokina.

Instead of going for a new body, I've been slowly building up the lens side of things and I now have, in addition to my kit lenses, 50mm f2 macro, 70-300mm, and 8mm Fisheye. The latter is a lens which I was surprised to discover how much I loved and I use it a lot. I also agree with you about the quality of Oly kit lenses; they really are very good.

Interesting re your comparison with your friend's camera. A lot has been said about Oly IQ, but I've always maintained that any difference is not really meaningful in terms of how most people use their cameras. But you know what people are like about small things and I think the whole sensor-size debate has more to do with another well-known kind of size rivalry which men are prone to.
