There's always a question mark over the ability of 4/3rds cameras to work in low light and the question of how effective in body IS actually is. Low light performance isn't of particular interest to me but I had the opportunity to work in a situation that on the face of it isn't the best place to use an E-3. This shot was taken handheld using the Zuiko 50-200 f/2.8. The properties are 200mm @ f/3.5, 1/25th, ISO400, IS ON. I should have used ISO800 as I didn't manage to freeze the guitarists hand at 1/25 but in any case IMO it doesn't detract unduly from the shot. The images were primarily for web use so absolute IQ wasn't required. I was pretty pleased with the shot TBH. ![]() Click for Big The shot below was taken at ISO1600, 200mm @ f/3.5 1/100, IS ON. Again Handheld. ![]() Click for Big The shot below is simply to illustrate the level of light available. ![]() Click for Big Good as Full Frame? absolutely not, Useable? I think so, more importantly so did the guys I was shooting for. I haven't had any of the shots printed but it may be worth having a few done at 20"x16" just to see how they hold up. |
