I have decided to try the R1 and wonder if used or refurbs can be found anywhere. jasm

They are fairly difficult to come by now and those that do surface seemed to get snapped up quickly. You could try eBay, there are usually one or two on there and occasionally "new" ones, expect to pay £350-£400 for "new".
They appear to be quite sought after don't they.

There are indeed. From the completed listings it would seem the average price is about £300/350. And for somebody wanting top quality something of a bargain. The R1 is a bit quirky........think M/F SLR, bit of a Hasselblad without knobs but still with a fabulous Zeiss lens.

If you are still looking I noticed yesterday that Mifsuds have a second hand one listed on their website for £279. They are normally a good company to deal with too.
