It's probably Sony you should be moaning at, they're the ones that commission the Sony AF mount lenses surely... Besides which as a manual lens I reckon it would have to be made in Minolta MD mount....

While it's nice of Zeiss to make new manual lenses for us old Nikon owners I'm not sure I really want to spend quite that much.......

And how you sell an EOS mount lens which (as I read it on Robert White site) is a M42 mount with an optional EOS/M42 adapter, to be used in stop down manual only? At that rate it can be a Sony or Olympus or what ever else you want!

I haven't seen anything like that claimed on the site... though they do offer Nikon or M42 to EF adptors.

Quote from RW.

Quote:

M42 Screw to Canon EF mount adaptor
For using the 50/1.4 Planar T* ZS lens on Canon EOS cameras, it offers manual focus, and manual stop down metering only.

Or

Quote:

Rayqual Nikon AI to Canon EF Adaptor
To use Zeiss ZF Nikon AI fit lenses on Canon EOS bodies. Supplied with Canon EF fit rear cap

Not exactly making EF mount lenses.

Do these have the electronic connectors needed to meter with cheaper bodies?

But they don't claim to be making EF mount lenses...

These lenses are designed for Nikon (ZF) and Pentax (ZS & ZK) manual focus cameras. RW are merely offering the adaptors for those who may wish to use these lenses with Canons EOS system. AFAIK the only AF Zeiss lenses are those they make for the Sony A-mount system - though I'm sure that there'd be a market for Zeiss glass in Canon-EF mount...

Nikon, Canon and Pentax photographers targeted by new Zeiss lens

Where the second word is Canon they sure are trying to give the impression that they do make EF lenses, that's what I am objecting to. I was highlighting the fact that they, at this time do not make EF fit lenses. Goes off to fondle his 85mm f1.4 P.....................

I can find no such press release on either the RW site or Zeiss...
