ARe Yashica bayonet filters/attachments interchangeable with Rollei?
      #639976 - 08/04/2008 13:25

I see many Rollei bayonet filters and attachments on ebay, but not so many for yashica...will they interchange?

I now have a Yashica D FWIW

Cheers!

Rollei Bayonet 1 (RI, Bay 1) should fit.

The number 1 for F3.5 lenses fits perfectly as do minolta autocord, Yashicamat, and numerous third party ones.
If you need bayonet 2 or 3 life is much more difficult but a few third party ones were made, some of which were Just holders that took filter glasses.

As opposed to Bay II for f3.5 lenses?

For the camera in question, you don't. In fact I'm not aware of any non-Rollei camera that takes any other Rollei bayonet size than Bay I. And as the OP pointed out, Rollei filters are plentiful on ebay.

a 3.5 planar or xenotar takes a bayonet 2 so you might be offered these as suitable for a f3.5 camera.

That is true but I have been offered the wrong size by advertisers, so it is as well to know the difference.

Information was also given for others reading this, who might be confused by the various Rollie bayonet sizes.

Quite, so describing Bay I as "for f3.5 lenses" was slightly confusing.

Oh I quite agree, just it's important to make that clear so as not to confuse the OP.
Anyway, if you get the wrong size filter, the answer is simple - buy a Rollei that fits it.
