M6 (TTL) batteries
      #559754 - 26/10/2007 09:27

Hi

Quick question; can i use two LR44s instead of a K58L without damage to the meter? This would seem to be cheaper and easier to get hold of.

Apologies but guess this question's been asked a few times on this forum.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I do know that if maybe somebody maybe had said batteries they maybe wanted to maybe exchange for a small fee, maybe; they will be dragged out of the forum and shot at dawn! (and were talking more bolt actioned rifle than 18-200 superzoom!)

- No I don't have any, just mocking the for sale/wanted rules

Is an LR44 the same as a KA76? If so yes, although they are more fiddly.

Don't know how much help this is, but I use 2 LR44's in my non-TTL M6 with no problems.

a copy of the M6 TTL manual can be found here and it says SR44 (Silver Oxide) batteries are fine, but makes no mention of LR44's

http://www.joe-chan.com/manuals

Hope this helps

In which case LR44s ought to be fine too, but don't expect them to last as long - SR44s may be a bit more expensive initially, but will be a lot cheaper in the long run.

I don't use the 3v cells - too expensive - just SR44s. Also, I wouldn't bother with LR44 (alkaline) batteries when silver oxides (SR44) are about 70-80% more expensive, but last 100% longer or more. 7Dayshop offer a 10 pack of SR44 (Panasonic, not generic) for £6.50 plus P+P - so prices are not too bad.
