Summilux 1:1,4/75 - lens
      #393724 - 09/11/2006 18:40

Is there anyone around who has some experience with the Summilux 1:1,4/ 75 mm lens and maybe with the 1:2/90mm lens. Which one would you advise to buy as an outstanding portrait lens ?

Probably the 75mm f/2 Summicron, if the shorter focal length appeals. Certainly since Mr Hicks got one, I don't think he's used his 90mm much.

The 75mm Summilux is a big heavy lens in comparison to either of these. Check them all at a dealer if you wish.

Surely the 90 / 2 for its incisiveness, perhaps the 75 / 1.4 in low light conditions
For the best quality/price certainly the 90 is the ideal

Hi Heric,
That might depend on which f/2 90mm one looks at. I have heard some say that the current APO lens is too sharp for portraiture. As always, this has to be a personal choice.
