good afternoon all. me and a friend were talking about how there seems to be alot of leica's associated with the german post office.and what they used to use them for? but we couldnt work out why? can anyone help?

The Leica Ms without viewfinders were used to photograph telephone usage meters for billing purposes... An array of the meters could be photographed in a single frame for archive and audit and some unfortunate person then had to look at the images and read the totals off.
