This thread is for posting of FirstView pictures for the 1st of March, 2008. Please read the main About FirstView post, if you have not done so already. You may post only one image here, and it must have been taken on the 1st of March, 2008. Please remember to include the basic details - time and place of shooting, and what we're looking at. If you want to put in a short paragraph explaining what's going on, or why you chose that one, or whatever, then please do, but keep it brief and relevant. Any discussion beyond that can go in the 'Comments' thread. Please do not post comments or other replies here - they will be deleted. This thread is for FirstView image posting only.
The picture thread will remain open for a few days in the first instance, so please try to get your contributions in promptly. People who are perhaps away from home, or need time for film processing, or are otherwise unable to post their images in the initial time slot should pm me - I'll re-open the thread later in the month for late additions. In all cases please remember that the forum image posting rules apply (see HOW TO POST IMAGES - MAXIMUM SIZES - Free progs - Tutorials...).
Finally, once again I would like to draw your attention to the new FirstView Gallery site - we would like as many contributors as possible to make use of this for hosting their FirstView images in order to maintain as complete an archive as possible for the future. Of course if you prefer not to you are still welcome to contribute to the FirstView threads with images hosted elsewhere.

Nice and sunny today in Cromer, but a bit rough for surfing... Photo taken at about 12.30 on the way back from the library.

I've spent a few hours today tucked into the bank of the stream waiting to photograph the elusive Grey Wagtail. Still not having any success and not even a sighting today.

Take one compact - set time lapse to 5 seconds - walk round town... I stood next to the guy top right and looked up at the roof over the road. To my delight he looked as well - all jolly good fun, what!

I love that collage, Siuya. Mine is the battered remains of some crocuses in the back garden following yesterday's gales, taken about 4:00pm on a used Powershot S60 bought for £30 over the internet. Looks like it's still performing well !

About 3 p.m. in the back garden. Watching the birds while having a cuppa.
I had smeared a branch with some fat and some sunflower kernels to attract the titmice and was surprised to see this Dunnock (normally a ground feeder) making regular visits to feed.

Every Saturday morning we drop the kids at Stagecoach and then go for a 90 minute walk. Today being St David's day, it seemed some daffs were in order - here in front of the church of St James the Great in Old Milverton, a few hundred yards from the Avon, 11.34.

50 degrees.
Well nearly, (latitude of somewhere in England). Just out for a walk in the woods today before picking my eldest up from a birthday party and had an idea. I think this is how our part of the world would appear if you were in space and zoomed in while keeping the equator horizontal. Makes me dizzy when I look at it.

Been plagued with BSODs on my desktop here for the last couple of weeks or so. Today, I think I just might have nailed the culprit. Can't be sure yet, but this is the little blighter I'm suspicious of at the moment - now uninstalled from my seemingly stable machine. We'll see.
