Hi,
I have a Durst M670 Colour enlarger but the transformer has gone caput, I have searched the web / ebay for a replacement but so far no luck.
Does anyone know where I would be able to get a replacement, or are there any electronic guru's on here that can advise if I could use a 3rd party transformer.
Input: 240v - 50-60Hz - 120va
Output: 11v - 86va 12v - 100va
Any help / suggestions would be appreciated
Thanks

Mains AC -> 12V DC, 100W - that's a very common power supply specification, and particularly for photographic enlargers, so I wouldn't have thought there would be too much problem finding something suitable.
If you can't find a used one, it should also be easy to find a new alternative, though obviously you might have to cobble together the appropriate connector to actually plug it into your enlarger. A quick google turned this up - AC DC Mains 230 12v Output Max 20 A DC transformer, but I would have thought it ought to be possible to find something cheaper.

Cheer Huw,
I will continue with my search for a couple of weeks as my darkroom is in the process of being rebuilt at the moment.

Here's an alternative:
Power Supply
Otherwise, if all the transformer is doing is illuminating the light source, you could use one of the power supplies intended for quartz halogen spotlights. They don't produce very clean power though, so if in any doubt, use something like the above.

Thanks for the help guys,
I brought a transformer from "eurobatteries" for £10 but have not had a chance to test it as yet, but based on the comment by Mark above I am not too hopeful as I believe that it is a halogen lamp transformer, worth the gamble at a tenner though.
If it does not work I will take a look at the £40 one Mark linked, in the mean time I will keep monitoring eBay for enlargers, may get lucky!!

Worth a punt. I should think the worst thing that might happen is a blown bulb, or maybe some slightly uneven exposure times. But TBH I'd be more inclined to think it will be fine.

You could buy an adjustable and fully stabilised PSU from Maplin, which would provide more consistent colour temperature and light output than a simple transformer.
