......I know of some one using an adapter in a D200 but anybody tried with the D300 yet do they actually work do they slow the write speed down the reason I ask is I have SD cards from my D80 that would save me splashing out on CF cards if I buy an adapter

CF cards are so cheap (little more than SD cards if you shop on the internet) that IMHO I would buy CF cards rather than an adapter

I think that if you got the adaptor if they do make them, and it bugger#d the camera,Nikon would invalidate the warranty.

I used to use an adapter in my portable hard drive, bought a Sandisk adapter for use with my Sandisk cards but still some cards would not work.I don't use a portable hard drive anymore for the same reasons previously mentioned ie. memory is so cheap. A Sandisc adapter costs about £14 and I can get 4GB of card for that. Don
