How do you convert the NEF files for my D60 to RAW so that photoshop will recognize them? Cheers for any info guys.

NEF is the Nikon RAW Format.
What version of Photoshop are you using?

Your D60 should work with CS3 and Camera Raw.

According to that list, the D60 is at least compatible with Camera Raw version 4.5.

Okay.
Check the Adobe website for the latest version of ACR (Adobe Camera RAW). Download and install if required.
Open CS3 and goto File > Open and select the file you want.
A new window will open that will allow you to adjust the NEF/RAW file. When you're happy with the look of it, click on Open in the bottom right corner and the file will then open fully in CS3.
You can then save it as a TIFF/JPEG file

Have you installed the Camera RAW update successfully? You DO NOT double-click on the downloaded file to install it, you must follow the instructions precisely as Adobe wrote them
