It probably is...by a Canon user .
Seriously now, the only thing that is keeping me from getting one is, I don't know if it has weather sealing. Anyone could tell me?
PS: Marketing wise it was very clever of Nikon to include video mode at this price point, unlike Canon, including it only in their new high end pro camera.

You might think so, but Damien's poll thread appears to suggest otherwise...

Maybe - but if Canon, Pentax, Sigma, Sony/Minolta and Limpus user votes are ignored, the voting might well be a bit more even!

... despite which I can guarantee that future reviewers will mark down cameras without this mode

Is there any review of Canon's movie making DSLR(forget which one it is)?

Still a Flash file though. Where's the source? That's the only way you'll be able to tell if it's real of not.

I've changed my mind on this D90 video thing.
It is so full of compromises, that it isn't worth bothering with in my opinion (manual focus only, Viewing via LCD screen only, 5 mins max recording time before the LCD screen melts...)
Despite owning a D300, I'm still not 100% sold on live-view, either. It is useful on occasions, but I'm sure the main reason behind it's development was to ease the disappointment of those upgrading from a compact, and expecting to be able to compose on the rear screen!
The marketing men are always on the lookout for the next gimmick to sell new cameras!

Now, let's see - my Canon XM2 cost around £2K, records video in 720 x 576 pixel format, and still images @ 1488 x 1128. The viewfinder is electronic rather than optical, there's also the option of a fold-out screen.
The D90 does video capture at up to 1280 x 720 as well as stills at 4288 x 2848 pixels. It'll take interchangeable lenses - which the XM2 won't (although the built-in zoom is pretty good).
Regarding the five minute limit on filming video - just watch a bit of TV or a feature film. how many scenes are anywhere near five minutes shot from the same camera angle? I wouldn't advocate using a D90 for a wedding, but you could certainly knock-off a short film or two with one IMO.
The cost of a D90 is around £699 ... it'll soon drop too, no doubt. A bit of a bargain to my mind.

I quite agree Ian,with the new technology coming on in leaps and bounds. I could not afford a DSLR 8 years ago thankfully ,the price of a D90 now is small in comparison to the cameras of yesterday,I probably put that all wrong, but you get my drift,we all gain with this techno rush to beat the rivals.
