My friends and family are not very enthusiastic about for photography so I mostly get no reactions when I show them photos toher than the usual, "that look nice."
I've been dying for constructive criticism.

Near to where we live are one of the biggest tourist attractions in this part of the world - the Nerja caves. Needless to say we have only been twice and this time I took my camera with me. Flash photography is not allowed and I only took my pocket tripod with me. I'm quite pleased with the end results, but next time I will take my proper tripod:

Image: http://mynerja.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/nerja-caves3.jpg

It was very difficult to get an idea of the scale of the place on the camera, hence why I tried to get some of the walkways in for scale.

Image: http://mynerja.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/nerja-caves1.jpg

Overall I was pleased with my results, which will be a lot better than all the people trying to take photos handheld on their camera phones. :D

Hi dear forum members,

Want to ask for an advice.

Learning photography as amateur somewhere around 2 years. Think that step by step getting better. :)

And regarding to this I want to do more complex and interesting pictures, and now offers a free shooting to families and couples, so on.

[Content removed]
Thinking to ask to pay only for travel expenses. But not sure yet..

The key question I have is how to find people who can to pay for travel expenses, or at least are willing to try their best for the beautiful pictures)) Maybe to travel bit to a nice place or park.

All sites like starnow did not impress me at all, just taking money for nothing.. besides there are mainly single models, while I want to try working with families and couples.

What do you think of the website? Theoretically, would you agree for shooting in such conditions? And where can I find people in the UK, on what resources?**

Poll - Would you ever choose to take a high-end, fixed-lens

compact with you instead of a DSLR?

During last year’s Photokina, one AP reader quipped that Leica’s ‘entry-level’ £3,900 M-E rangefinder was priced on a par with a low-end NASA moon rocket. ‘Will Leica ever launch a more affordable system camera?’ was the collective cry.

In early June, online speculation was rampant when Leica’s Mini M teaser suggested that photographers might see the birth of a consumer-level CSC. History has proved this was always unlikely, however, and nine months ago we learned that Leica would never launch a ‘£1,000’ CSC.

The latest ‘will they, won’t they’ mystery is now over. The Mini M, aka the X Vario, is revealed as a high-end compact with a fixed zoom lens.

Designed to appeal to Leica newcomers as well as the brand’s aficionados, featuring an APS-C-sized sensor it is set to enter an increasingly cut-throat market (see AP dated 22 June 13, page 5).

Whether the £2,150 model wins over DSLR-wielding consumers hungry for a ‘handy’-sized camera – as Leica hopes – is hard to tell.

The budget-conscious cynic, meanwhile, might hope to eventually pick one up second-hand, perhaps in the same shop that stocks used space vehicle paraphernalia.

Giving gear away

Something I've done occasionally is given gear away against the promise of a contribution to a cancer charity -- the recipient to decide the amount. It occurs to me that most of us have at least some gear that we no longer use and which is worth very little (= not worth the hassle of selling on eB) but is too good to throw away: we'd just like to see it go to a good home. This is especially true of darkroom gear. Of course if there's expensive shipping involved -- an enlarger, say -- we might want the recipient to pay that too.

Deep in rural France there's rather less I can easily ship nowadays, but might it be a good idea to make an effort to make giving stuff away a part of the AP forum?

Cheers,
